Mr Abdelmoumen OULD KADDOUR holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Polytechnics Institute of Algiers (Ecole Nationale Polytechnique), a Master and a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.


In 1979, he defended a doctoral thesis, on ‘‘the strategic study on rollover in LNG storage containers’’. In 2000, he graduated from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration: Leading Professionals Service Firms. From 1982 to 1992, he is Director of the Research Center for Materials Development (Centre de Recherche de Développement des Matériaux, CDM) , which is attached to the High Commission for Research (HCR) and where he contributed to setting up the research strategy in solar and nuclear energy for Algeria.


From 1982 to 1986, he is responsible for the creation of the Center for Research and Exploration for Minerals (Centre de Recherche et d’Exploration Minière, C.R.E.M) and the Department of Engineering at the Research Center for Materials Development (CDM). In 1985 and 1986, he set up a unit for encapsulation of photovoltaic cells, as part of solar development in Algeria, and a research laboratory in metal sciences (Metallurgy) in Sidi Bel Abbes and in Ain Defla respectively
In 1987, he had completed studies and construction of the Center for the Development of Materials (Centre de Développement des Matériaux, CDM) and of the Center for the Development of Nuclear Techniques (Centre de Développement des Techniques Nucléaires, CDTN) as well as of the Center for Mineral Exploration and Exploration (Centre de Recherche et d’Exploration Minière, CREM), and in partnership, he accomplished studies and construction on a unit for developing fuel elements.


In 1989, he set up a unit for purification of uranium, in order to produce nuclear fuel, and a unit for fuel elements production. In 1992, he created Condor Engineering Spa (a computer design and development company) and then became its Chairman and CEO. SONATRACH, NAFTEC and CDM (Materials Development Center) are shareholders in this company.


In 1993, he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brown & Root-Condor, an Algerian-American joint stock company (51% owned by SONATRACH, Naftec and CDM and 49% owned by Brown & Root). Mr OULD KADDOUR also chaired the Board of Directors of BRC-Construction (BRC-C) in 2005, following acquisition of 70% of the capital of Construction Company Buildings of El Achour (Entreprise de Construction Bâtiments d’El Achour).


Since 2009, Mr. OULD KADDOUR has devoted himself to consulting activities in Algeria and abroad. He took part in numerous Oil & Gas projects in several countries, including Qatar, Algeria, Senegal and France.


During his career, Mr. Abdelmoumen OULD KADDOUR, led as a manager, many Oil & Gas projects in gas processing, gas recovery, oily water treatment, well junction, flare gas recovery, pipelines, pump stations, an isobutane production plant, a natural gas dehydration unit, studies for optimizing operation of Hassi Messaoud field, and hydrocarbon transport network. He is also author of several publications and strategic studies in chemical engineering, refining and petrochemical development, petroleum engineering, fuel and LPG pipeline transportation.


On 20th March 2017, Mr Abdelmoumen OULD KADDOUR was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SONATRACH.
